My name is Lord Michael Ravenheart. I was born to be a king. This mortal life of mine has been wrought with many hardships, with pain and grief, successes and mistakes, just like anyone else’s. However, it has been but a quest, an adventure that has brought me to you. I have been writing for almost the whole of this mortal life, but it wasn’t until I found myself a resident in a penal colony that I thought to tell the stories that have been locked away for all of that time.
It began with a time in the history of the world Proxima that has come to be known as “The Time of the Oath.” But it has expanded into much, much more. What has come from that beginning is an enormous plan for more than ninety novels, a few video and table-top games, movies and television ideas. Even in the shadow of all of those daunting tasks, they are just a flash in the pan for the overall plan.
Beyond my novels- which can be believed to simply be broken memories of lives I have lived or places that I have been through ages past- I have a very industrious vision for the future. The world at large is not doing well. All that you have to do is to look out your window or turn on the news and you will see what I am talking about. Many people look for ways out. The internet and video games, vices and hobbies, drugs and working fingers to the bone swallow up our attention as best they can to aid us in getting our minds off of the world’s problems. It truly is dire…
This is not to say that it cannot be fixed, or that there are not alternatives. This is the reason for everything that I do. It is more than my books, more than games I might create, or the businesses that I will be starting, that I live. These are simply a means to an end… or a beginning.
Starting with the books and my company Ravenheart Entertainment, and through ideas that I foster minute by minute, I will be devising a plan to create a space where we can bring my world, the world of Proxima to you my readers, my fans, my friends in a way that no other writer has been able to convey, bringing that world to life right here on earth.
Insurmountable you might say. Impossible you say? You would not be alone. Many would label this dream of mine simply that… a dream. Perhaps for them, with limited vision, that might be true. But I am not them and I know what they refuse to accept. Nothing is impossible or insurmountable.
But I know that I cannot do this alone. I do not know everything, and I am not an expert on all subjects. And to do what I plan, to implement my dream, I need to be, to know and to master everything. For this, I know that there are plenty of you out there who are experts in the fields that will see my dreams become a reality. So it is to you that I look, to you that I ask for help.
So let us embark on this adventure together.
Where do we start?
The Road of the Seven Sisters, a poem written originally in one stanza and one refrain on a simple napkin serves as the symbol to anyone who wonders how we could do this. The poem of the seven sisters began as just a legend, intended for a much larger story that took place thousands of years after the sisters lived and died and became the saga that you will be reading in Doomslayer, in Magefire, and the five coming novels. That Legend, written on a napkin is growing and is on the road to becoming an epic tale that will move millions of people. So too is the vision that I have for the future of Ravenheart Entertainment. (Q.) You have only recently released your first book, Serenity, and already you plan to release another. This one is part of a must larger saga called “The Road of the Seven Sisters.” What do you envision for your future, Lord Ravenheart?
(A.) To be honest, the first was a hasty release. It was suggested to me to get something out there as quick as I could, to give the world, and especially agents, publishers and others the ability to have something produced by me that could be referenced. Serenity was created for that. It contains excerpts from multiple projected books coming in the future. The intention was to release Doomslayer, the Road of the Seven Sisters novel, and then the other subsequent novels to go with it. Somewhere in there was a plan to also release a ‘Skyrim’ novel as well, which is not even in the world that I created.
(Q.) Wait… A Skyrim novel. What is that about?
(A.) It is a passion of mine, and a side project that I am working on due to my love of the video game ‘Skyrim©’ from Bethsoft, or Bethesda Softworks Studios. Of course I must get their permission before I can release the story, I currently have more than 350 pages finished from the trilogy that I have outlined. The books take place during the timeline of the game, and largely follow a character in certain missions that you play in the game, namely that of the famed Dragonborn. Upon their approval, I will finish the books and then move on to another very creative book that will take place 200 years after the game.
(Q.) It sounds like you have many Industrious plans for the future. Tell me, I would like to go back to my original question, what does the future look like for you?
(A.) Not only do I have more than ninety books outlined, and proposed for the future, but…
(Q.) Ninety!? Seriously? Did I hear you correctly?
(A.) (Lord Michael chuckles) Yes, ninety. That is what I said. Most center around the world that I have introduced in Serenity, and that of the Seven Sisters. But beyond the books, I also have the business projects, and kingdom that I plan to build.
(Q.) I have heard you mention this before. Please, tell me more about this Kingdom… About Ravenheart Entertainment.
(A.) Ravenheart Entertainment? The name says much honestly. I plan to create a company whose
business is entertainment. Books/publishing, television and movies, gaming, resorts and more. I actually plan to build a kingdom based upon the world in my novels on a Greek island in the Mediterranean. It will look much like a medieval kingdom with many greek philosophies and principles. Many of those who attend the renaissance festivals would love it, and those who practice the arts showcased at those events, such as blacksmithing and more, will love it. In fact we will offer many of those people the opportunity to join us in living there year round, for the rest of their lives if they want.
(Q.) Will this world have dragons as well?
(A.) (Lord Michael laughs heartily) Well, I will not rule anything since technology and dna splicing and genetics make amazing strides. But no, not with dragons. Although we will have many of the other elements that are in my novels.
(Q.) So, you say that people will live there year round. Will they be paid? Are they employees? And is this to be a resort or…
(A.) Yes. To all of it. Let me explain. It will be set up as a place for people to live an alternative life, one that is based upon Proxima with Lords and Ladies, dukes and duchesses, peasants and knights with squires, tradesmen and women with apprentices. All of it. But it will also serve to be a place that people can come like an adult Disney world or maybe like Sturbridge Village/Plymouth Plantation.
(Q.) It sounds like a big task.
(A.) It certainly is. But then I wouldn’t claim to be a king if I did not intend to create a kingdom.
(Q.) Before I wrap up, you are about to release your new book, the first of the Seven Sisters saga, called Doomslayer. Could you tell me what books will make the series, or do you not have the names yet?
(A.) I do have their names, and to be honest three of them are almost finished. It will be Doomslayer first, the next will be Magefire. The others are called Between a Hammer and an Anviil, Broken Road, The Illium, Fallen Warrior, and The Seventh Requiem: A Road Untraveled.
(Q.) Well, I wish you all of the luck and thank you for taking the time to speak with me and answering my questions.
(A.) My pleasure. Anytime.
